Feb 7, 2010 - Well I guess we could all use a bit of crarity in our lives.. Are you really a bible bashing buffoon or a bored griefing engine?

royalclass23548 Says:

Feb 7, 2010 - @jumpmonkey11, The defintion of bash: To strike with a crushing or smashing blow. The reality is that YOU are the 'bible bashing baffoon'. I on the other hand to not attempt to crush or smash the Bible. I treasure it and spread the good news which it contains.

satansjockstrap Says:

Feb 7, 2010 - 7000 years? 7000 years?! 7000 YEARS?!!! dumb! Dumb!! DUMB!!! That always makes me laugh... please explain to everyone where this figure comes from - I'm sure it will prove your point.

satansjockstrap Says:

Feb 7, 2010 - @jumpmonkey11 I think he's just a 'bored griefing engine' - nobody could actually be that retarded.

royalclass23548 Says:

Feb 8, 2010 - @satansjockstrap, Show me any recorded history by humans prior to the 7000 years. Anyone who thinks humans have been on Earth for 1 milllion years must be extremely close to being brain dead. The number of years man has inhabited the Earth is actually closer to 6000 years when you look at the available evidence as well as the lack of evidence the contrary.

DaktaBubbles Says:

Feb 8, 2010 - they hae to factor for nukes that may be intercepted.

satansjockstrap Says:

Feb 8, 2010 - How about the Chauvet caves? The Aurignacians? Evidence of the early Paleoindian culture and their folsom point crafting? The skeleton at Lake Mungo in Australia? The evidence is everywhere! I guess those 66 books you hold in such reverence were all a little bit one sided.

royalclass23548 Says:

Feb 8, 2010 - @satansjockstrap, All of those evidences you listed of mankind's existence were within the time period I have specified. You are confirming my allegations. Thanks.

satansjockstrap Says:

Feb 8, 2010 - If you look into those examples (a tiny percentage of the evidence out there) you'll see that some of them date back over 20,000 years. How can you so dogmatically believe one account of history yet completely disregard all others? Please enlighten me as to exactly what was here around 5000 BC.

Hunkola Says:

Feb 14, 2010 - You Bible-thumpers are dumber than a box of used tampons........humans have only been around for 6000 years........LOL.......you Christians are SO FUCKING STUPID.

jacksawild Says:

Feb 15, 2010 - @royalclass23548 Writing was developed about 6000 years ago... which may explain why recorded history starts about then. For 99% of that time we've been held back by zealots claiming to know the truth and threatening those who disagree. Mankind has outgrown your childish god and his petulant demands for attention. Take your comments to a video about elves or some other shit... leave science to the adults.

Mistahshadow Says:

Feb 15, 2010 - Love how he says "Yumans" instead of "humans." I snickered every time he said it in Cosmos

bkirk1979 Says:

Feb 17, 2010 - wow Ted Turner was not a very good interviewer (this is the first time I've seen him interview someone)

ScrewAttackChina Says:

Feb 21, 2010 - Go Ted!! Broadcasting CNN from that little country club in this video!

TheOmatron Says:

Mar 2, 2010 - I am a Christian who believes in Sagan's work, and evolution. No rational human trul believes that the Earth is 6,400 years old, or that some guy created the Earth in seven calender days. I believe in God and Jesus for personal reasons, and I have no doubt my faith is right for me. However, I cringe when I see these fundamentalist/evangelical lunatics rejoice in their unbridaled ignorance. They feel threatened by anyone who seeks answers because they have NO faith. They live in fear.

billyg89 Says:

Mar 3, 2010 - @TheOmatron i dont really understand people like you. you doubt the quality of contents from the package but buy it nontheless. I mean, if religious people were all like you, no doubt the world would be so much better, but i dont understand how you can keep something that has such flaws and keep it as perfect. the concept of god is nothing you can take lightly and just take for granted

TheOmatron Says:

Mar 3, 2010 - That is where faith comes into play. I don't take the Bible literally word for word. I think anyone who does is ignoring the thousands of years of different translations, interpretations, additions, subtractions etc. brought on by man. I have experienced things in my life that leave me with no doubt that there is indeed a God. People need to find balance in their lives and learn to seek answers without trepidation, but also accept that there are some things that have no concrete answers.

TheOmatron Says:

Mar 3, 2010 - "An atheist has to know a lot more than I know."[ -Carl Sagan

billyg89 Says:

Mar 3, 2010 - atheists realize that there isn't objective truth to god just as any scientist. It is unknowable to man, so why even worry about it. I may consider myself an atheist because i dont believe in god just like i would label myself as not believing in fairies and ghosts.

TheOmatron Says:

Mar 3, 2010 - I don't believe in fairies. I don't know if there is a spiritual plane. All I know comes from my studies and experiences.I love science, and I also love and believe in God. I don't think the two need to be antithetic. If I were to say that the sum total of my life experiences led me to believe that there was no God, I would be lying.

Lee733qc Says:

Mar 8, 2010 - I always find it a bit egocentric the way some people think that god interferes with the world for their sake.

andrewcramer13 Says:

Mar 12, 2010 - carl sagan smoked weed

goog2k Says:

Mar 12, 2010 - Sagan said, "We are star stuff" and "a way for the cosmos to know itself." All the atoms on earth and in our bodies came from supernova that blew up over 5 billion years ago. Aren't we all just walking, talking stardust -- this cosmos become AWAKE and looking back at itself? -- and aren't we intimately connected to it all? We are this wonder called life become AWAKE Please enjoy the dance. And ultimately there's nothing that separates us from others in this grand mystery. Please be kind.

chapaev36 Says:

Mar 16, 2010 - Good for you. I wholeheartedly agree that your faith does not need to be antithetical to your understanding of science. I don't share your faith, but I have a big problem with those people who choose to belittle someone like yourself or suggest that they are more enlightened than you simply by being atheist. The important thing is realizing the difference and keeping the two things separate. My best wishes.

Volcomboi15 Says:

Mar 18, 2010 - yeah, he smoked it regularly.
